The Ceremony
At an outside location in the city
Weddings are performed by Officiants, who are authorized by the State of New York and the City of New York to legally marry couples.
The officiants we work with are warm and personable individuals who will conduct the ceremony with dignity and warmth. He/she will speak about the basis and meaning of marriage in a simple manner and in a way that is relaxed and personal. The words are not related to any particular religion but are chosen to suit any loving couple.
The officiants are experienced in marrying couples, whose native language might not be English and adapt their speaking pace accordingly.
Before the wedding, we will email you the text that will be used so that you can familiarize yourself with it. The very simple parts that you have to repeat during the ceremony are specially marked. You don’t have to learn anything by heart for the wedding. You can also cut any part, add to the ceremony or make changes. It is also possible to send your very own ceremony.
Getting married at the City Clerk Office
It is also possible to get married in the office. The ceremony takes place in a separate room. The ceremony is simple and short and last around 90 seconds.
